Homesick Tide was born from a feeling I know well. I painted this mermaid because, in many ways, she is me. A Caribbean soul living far from the ocean that raised her. She represents the quiet longing for home, the feeling of belonging somewhere else, and learning to carry your roots wherever life takes you. She isn’t lost; she’s simply navigating unfamiliar waters.
